The Continuous Rise of Antisemitism

We are witnessing the largest rise of antisemitism since the 1970s.
Following the brutal attacks by Hamas on Saturday 7th October, we saw an outpour of sympathy towards Israelis and Jews. At the same time, there was an astronomical rise in threats towards Jews, intimidation towards Jewish groups and antisemitic symbolism across the globe.
In the first 18 hours following the attacks, we saw a 488% increase in antisemitic behaviour on social media app Telegram. Across the first four days of the conflict there was a surge of over 300% antisemitic incidents in the UK. In London, between 1st October and 18th October there was an 1,353% increase in antisemitic offences as reported by the Metropolitan Police.
In St Louis, a swastika was spray-painted on a truck. In Utah, a synagogue was threatened with a bomb attack and people were forced to evacuate. In Sydney, a group of protesters outside of Sydney Opera House shouted “Gas the Jews.”
