There was a time when the question was when is Tiger Woods going to officially retire. Setback after setback combined with injuries and various scandals, it seemed like he was finished. Arguably the greatest player of all-time was scared to sit in a golf cart due to the pain the bumps would give him. His body was wrecked to a point where he struggled to even pick up a golf ball from the cup. This is what makes Tiger Woods’ PGA Championship win in 2018 so special. Prior to winning the championship there was a gap of 1,876 days since his last win.

Tiger Woods is far from the ideal role model. His many affairs, his treatment for sex addiction and being attacked by his wife with his golf clubs sum up a man with a problematic private life. The troubles continued after pleading guilty to reckless driving with tests showing five different drugs in his system. Tests showed he had two painkillers Vicodin and Dilaudid, sleeping drugs Ambien and THC as well as mood drug Xanax in his bloodstream. This combination can cause slower breathing, confusion and unconsciousness.

Woods seem finished. His aura had disappeared and the world was witnessing the downfall of a great sportsman with his legacy being tainted. Here was a physically and mentally damaged man who was…
